This program is tailored to our Mini&Me, U5 and U7 age groups. There are 2 sessions a week in the Outdoor season and 1 session a week in the Indoor season and each session runs between 60 - 75 minutes.
Leduc Soccer's GRASSROOTS program is based on the Long Term Player Development model as outlined by Canada Soccer and Alberta Soccer. GRASSROOTS focus on the first 2 stages of the LTPD, namely, Active Start (Mini&Me and U5) and FUNdamentals (U7). The sessions are based on the Preferred Training Model (PTM) as outlined by Canada Soccer.
Alberta Soccer recommends a “station” approach to training within GRASSROOTS Community Soccer Programs, as advocated by Canada Soccer through the Preferred Training Model. This method of delivery is not only more fun for players, but also allows training sessions to be tailored to a community's specific needs, depending on the number of players, parents, and coaches present and the available facilities. It's a Preferred Model for introducing training and developing new-to-soccer parent coaches.
